Youth One Stop Shop
Youth One Stop Shop - YOSS - was established in response to an insights report highlighting the challenges faced by South Auckland's youth. With feedback from 181 participants, the report revealed that while young people understand the importance of health and wellbeing, they often lack the necessary knowledge, self-agency, and life skills to address their needs effectively. Many also reported feeling judged, mistreated, and demeaned when accessing existing health and social services. This underscores a critical need for change in how these services are delivered.
In response, YOSS is committed to transforming youth health and social services by integrating youth development principles and mana-enhancing practices. Our goal is to provide services that empower young people with the knowledge and skills they need, build their confidence, and ensure they are treated with respect. By creating a supportive and inclusive environment, YOSS aims to foster an ecosystem where South Auckland's youth can thrive and reach their full potential. We invite community partners and stakeholders to join us in this vital effort to enhance and uplift the future of our young people.
